My husband and I have been looking into ideas on how to further expand my craftiness. One of the ideas that we came up with was to do a newsletter and eventually turn it into a magazine. I want to do a crafter of the month, featured craft, how-to tips for beginners and even an area where readers can ask questions to other readers and other readers can answer the questions. December update for my fans.

Good evening my friends. Well here it is almost Christmas and I have been working on the stockings for my little girls classes in just over a week. Don't like much getting them done. I spoke to my cousin a couple weeks ago and she told me that she would let me set up shop on the weekends to sell my crafts to get my business going. Now just to get enough inventory built up to last a couple weekends. I am so excited. This is why I have been waiting for. I just need a little exposure. I have my website and finished my catalog. I am also making little tea cups and putting friendship poems on the back of my business cards hanging from the handles. There will be a tea bag inside the cup. I am making basket fulls and going to take to the local doctors offices and beauty salons to get more advertisements. I will keep you posted on how this goes. November update

Well it has been a busy few weeks. Been working on getting a catalog together for my business and I think I have it done. Now to do fliers and get some baskets for my cups up friendship tea gifts. I am also working on 40 stockings for my daughters classes for this Christmas. I am also advertising on twitter and facebook and handing out business cards.

November Update

I know that I have not been online in a while but I have been working on some things. I have been getting my inventory together and getting my advertising done. It has not been easy but I am already starting to see it paying off a little. I know that this business is not going to just boom overnight and I know that it is a lot of work and even more waiting but I am here to update you on some good things that are happening.

I have been working on some ideas for my business but have also been working on making plastic canvas stockings for all of the children in both my little girls' classes for their Christmas parties in December. I am making 40 of them to make sure that I have enough for all of the children. They stand approximately a foot tall and will be stuffed to the gills with candy and small gifts for the children. I make something for the Christmas parties every year.

Another thing that I am working on is a thing called "A Cup of Friendship Tea" and I am making a bunch of these and will be putting them in baskets and delivering them to some of the local businesses as gifts to help get my name out there. I have a cousin that has her own beauty salon and she is letting me place a basket there and told me that she would offer all of her clients one. There will be business cards hanging from the handles of the little tea cups with a friendship poem on the back and a tea bag inside of the tea cup. I have been making a list of places to deliver them to. One is my daughters' doctor's office and my husband's doctor's office just to name a couple.

I am still very optimistic about this. I am also designing fliers to mail out to some of my family and friends to help get my name out and also getting my catalog together. I want to eventually get to the point that I can do home shows and maybe even get to become like these other home party companies. Big dreams, huh?

Update on my online store!

So I started my online store to sell handmade home decor and gifts. I don't have everything that I do on my website but still working on it. There are some items on there now but there are plenty more to come. I can do any sports team and since College Football is starting what better that to get a handmade gift for that special someone! Precious Pretties

I have decided to start my own craft business. I have been looking into this for a while. I will be opening an online store on Storenvy.com once I get my inventory built up a little so that I have something to sell. I will be posting some of the things that I make on my blog so that I can get your input on what you would pay for some of the things that I am going to be selling. They will all be made out of plastic canvas for now but maybe later I will venture into other crafts once I get going. I would love to hear your input on some of the things that I make. St Patrick's Day crafts...

I am doing this post to show you a couple of my St Patrick's Day crafts. These are the ones that I was so proud of that they hang right at my front door so they are the first things people see when they come into my house.

This is the Leprechan that I did a couple of years ago. This one only took about 45 minutes to complete. I thought this one was cute and thought that I would try it and now he greets everyone as they come in.

This is the Irish Welcome sign that I made while I was resting after having surgery. I am very proud of this one because it took me about 2 days working on it and the edge was really hard for someone that was not used to doing a project this big. I hope you like it.

Thinking of ideas

I was on the way to the church with my husband and kids for the Easter egg hunt. I was looking at how good the kids were doing and noticed that the baskets that we bought for them from the dollar store was not big enough to hold all of the eggs that they were finding. Then it hit me. Next year I think that I will make their baskets. That way I can make them bigger and make them to one-of-a-kind baskets. I am not sure yet exactly how it will look but I know what it will be similar to. I did a shamrock basket that we keep things like keys, pens, etc in and here is a picture.

Craft Auction

I was messaging with a new friend and we were talking about crafts and things of that sort. We were talking about ideas for her new blog and it got me thinking that maybe I can do the same thing that I suggested to her. So here it is. I am having an auction. I am posting a couple of pics of something that I made. The auction begins today and runs through the end of the month. Thinking of new craft.

I have been looking through my plastic canvas patterns and I realize that I have a lot of small canvas patterns. Most of them are things that little girls would like and then it hit me. I could make them and put them on hair clips and head bands. Then I thought about it and I could make headbands too. I have a ton of scrap canvas for small projects but was not sure what to use it for. Now I know what to do with it.

I ran this idea by my two little girls (ages 5 and 6) and they loved it. And what better way to advertise than to let them wear these hair accessories everywhere they go. You would think that with two little girls that like to have their hair done this idea would have come to me sooner. And getting the hair clips from the local dollar store, having the canvas and yarn already, This should be an easy business to get started.

I know that this post is short but the next will be longer and hopefully include photos. Wish me luck all and I will post as soon as I get some done.

Newest project

My newest project is one that is a little tough to do but I took a pattern for a block calender that had a lighthouse on it and took the lighthouse off. I made one of these of Tennessee and one of Georgia. There is what the Georgia one looked like. I sold this one to a guy at work for $20.
